Bear Trap (Bear Hunt) beginner guide

A practical guide to joining the Bear Trap, choosing the left-slot hero, setting troop ratios, and avoiding the mistakes that cost the most damage.

minute event

Alliance Lv. 5 · R4/R5 activation

Remember these four rules

  • Log in before the event starts; auto-join does not work.
  • Players who join should put a damage-boosting hero in the far-left slot.
  • Start with 10% infantry, 30% lancers, and 60% marksmen.
  • Check your alliance rally rules before sending troops.

Rally leaders and joining players use different logic

If you start the rally

All three heroes’ Expedition skills can take effect. Use heroes with team attack or damage bonuses, favor a strong newer-generation marksman as the main damage dealer, and increase Rally Capacity. Start a new rally as soon as each five-minute cycle ends.

If you join another rally

The key is the first Expedition skill of the hero in the far-left slot. Across all joining players, only the four highest-level eligible skills take effect, so use an alliance-approved hero with a well-leveled first skill. The other two heroes mainly add troop capacity.

Use 10 / 30 / 60 as a safe starting ratio

Infantry add little damage in this boss fight, while marksmen provide most of the damage. A balanced starting point is 10% infantry, 30% lancers, and 60% marksmen.

10% Infantry
30% Lancer
60% Marksman

With a strong marksman hero and alliance buffs, test a higher marksman share gradually. Do not blindly send 100% marksmen: Expedition mechanics can make total damage fall.

Easy left-slot heroes for new players

These early heroes have a first Expedition skill that can raise rally damage. Use the hero your alliance accepts and prioritize skill level over raw power.

Put this hero in the far-left slot. When several players bring eligible effects, the four highest skill levels are selected.

How to participate

Join an existing rally

  1. Open Alliance War on the right side of the screen.
  2. Select an existing rally against the Raging Bear.
  3. Tap the plus sign in the member area.
  4. Choose your troops and place the support hero on the left.
  5. Send the troops before the rally fills or departs.

Start your own rally

  1. Open the bear event from the event icon.
  2. Choose Rally, then Start Rally.
  3. Select three heroes whose Expedition skills improve damage.
  4. Set the troop ratio and send your troops.
  5. Start the next rally promptly after the five-minute cycle.

Raise damage in this order

  1. 01Choose the left-slot support hero and level the first Expedition skill.
  2. 02Use the 10/30/60 ratio, then test more marksmen gradually.
  3. 03Use your best-developed combat heroes when leading.
  4. 04Increase Rally Capacity through the Command Center and War Academy.
  5. 05Activate combat buffs, pet skills, and relevant specialist bonuses.
  6. 06Improve hero gear, Chief Gear, and Chief Charms over time.

Why the event is worth doing

  • Earn Alliance Tokens and hero gear enhancement materials.
  • Joining Bear Hunt does not consume Chief Stamina.
  • Troops are not injured when fighting the Raging Bear.
  • Personal damage rewards reset each session; lifetime hunting achievements are claimed once.

Event rules that are easy to miss

  • The trap stays active for 30 minutes.
  • Bear Hunt does not support auto-join; you must be online.
  • Participating starts a two-day cooldown shared by Trap 1 and Trap 2.
  • The alliance must reach level 5, and an R4 or R5 member must activate or schedule the trap.

Common mistakes

  • Putting the support hero in the middle or right slot.
  • Sending 100% marksmen without testing.
  • Starting rallies late and losing one or more five-minute cycles.
  • Ignoring alliance rules for rally leaders, joining players, or troop limits.

Event mechanics, hero skills, and alliance rules can change with updates. Treat the ratios as a starting point and adjust them using your own battle reports.
